The ninth release on Frequency Domain is a split cassette of deep listening music between Southfacing and Ali Wade, following on from the artists' earlier solo records for the label (Southfacing’s Make Way For The Young and Ali Wade’s Geomorphology).

Both contribute five tracks of new music that further expand each artist’s soundworld, all knitted together by a cryptic, roaming emotional sensibility. Southfacing’s new pieces set raindrop synthetic tones adrift in a memory haze, from the burning chrome of ‘Pienkowski’ and sharp subs of ‘Brash Girl’, to the glorious, propulsive energy of ‘Blood Thief’. On the flip, Wade’s tracks venture further beyond the slow-patterning loop-spaces of Geomorphology, building up vivid tableaux of buzzing drones and inky melodies: veering from the lighthearted ‘Gravity Sketch’ to intense, full-body immersion in the fried ‘Burn Through You’.
